collective abort of all ranks (?)

#1 Post by dfcox » Tue Feb 21, 2006 5:17 pm

Hello everybody,

We are trying to install VASP to Virginia Tech's cluster (G5s running MacOS X, darwin). We are able to come up with a executable, but we receive the following error at run time:

Code: Select all

.... (Many results here) ...
 lincom ok
 redis ok
 lincom ok
 redis ok
 lincom ok
 redis ok
rank 0 in job 1  n354_63062   caused collective abort of all ranks
exit status of rank 0: killed by signal 11
Well, I know that this is a run-time error, but I highly suspect that it is installation related. I couldn't find a matching thread in this forum.

Any ideas? Thank you so much in advance!

Memo

Hi Memo,

I have VASP running on MacOSX/G5, works beautifully. I used LAM-MPI. I've put detailed instructions (including a critical one concerning a vecLib-xlf incompatibility) on my homepage:

http://titus.phy.qub.ac.uk/group/Peter/

Maybe something in there will help you out. If you keep having trouble, please let me know. I'm not in any way connected to the VASP group, other than being a VASP user, but I am gathering up info on any MacOSX related issues. A sort of unofficial VASP/MacOSX support.

greets,
Peter
